It occupies a rectangular nave of 250 square meters and has different tank lines of different size and two water systems, closed and open. It has a wet room with tanks, two semi-basements with pump rooms and two elevated laboratories for feed handling, dissection and analysis. The closed system has a main cisterne for the reception and circulation of salt water with a capacity of 17 m3 for salt water, a rotary filter, and a 24 m3 biofilter. The aeration system is composed of two electro-blowers of 1.5 Kw and an oxygen emergency system. There is a heat pump for regulating the temperature of the water. The open system has a freshwater well and a cisterne of 8 m3 of capacity, which distribute the water to the installation. Laboratory has 8 concrete tanks of 4000 l, 18 1500-liter glass fiber tanks,6 fiberglass tanks of 750 liters connected to independent closed circuits, 12 aquariums of different size with autonomous recirculation systems, and 5 digestibility tanks.

The activities carried out in the laboratory are mainly growth and nutrition trials of various species of fish (sea bream, sea bass, seriola, trout, etc.) with experimental feeds containing different levels of nutrients and ingredients, and assisted reproduction of the European eel, maturation, induction, and cryopreservation and quality of sperm.
